Former Badgers running back Braelon Allen continues to impress for the New York Jets.
The latest viral clip features Allen powering past New York Giants’ safety Dane Belton after fielding a snap from four-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers. With a gap open in the middle of the field, Allen simply trucked the defender as he did countless times as Wisconsin’s running back during his collegiate tenure.
Most notably, Allen’s highlight arrived with Rodgers under center. While the Fond du Lac, Wisconsin native is listed as the Jets’ No. 2 running back ahead of the 2024 slate, seeing him take reps with the Jets starting QB suggests head coach Robert Saleh is prioritizing Allen’s familiarity with members of the starting unit.
Yes, the Jets have yet to cross the preseason threshold, but all signs point to Allen’s ascendency at the professional level. Through two preseason contests, the former Badger star has rushed over 80 yards on 14 carries.

Allen, the youngest player taken in the 2024 NFL Draft, is quickly becoming a Jets’ fan favorite. His size, coupled with his quickness after evading the defensive line, make him one of the more unique rookie prospects this winter.
Breece Hall remains option No. 1 at running back, but Allen will have plenty of time to prove his worth in the Jets’ backfield. Their regular season commences on Sept. 9 vs. the San Francisco 49ers.
