It’s hard to believe, but the highly-anticipated Texas Longhorns season starts in just a few days. Last season’s college football playoff semifinal appearance and the move to the SEC has Texas fans hyped.

When does the Longhorns season start?

Texas opens the season at home Aug. 31 at 2:30 p.m. at Royal-Memorial Stadium. You can count on it being hot in Austin that day. Longhorns coach Steve Sarkisian has been holding fall practice at 2:45 p.m. each day to help the team get used to the extreme heat they may face that day.

When does the college football season start?

The first game on the 2024 college football schedule is this Saturday, Aug. 24, in Ireland. ACC rivals Florida State and Georgia Tech face off in Dublin at Aviva Stadium. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. CT on ESPN.
