Broncos projected to pick No. 1 overall in 2025 NFL draft with 3-14 record

PFN has the Broncos projected to finish with a 3-14 record and claim the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL draft.

Denver Broncos fans might be feeling optimistic about the team going into Sean Payton’s second season in charge, but national media members aren’t convinced.

The latest example comes from Ian Cummings, who used Pro Football Network’s playoff predictor to project which teams are the most likely to end up with the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL draft. His projection has the Broncos picking first overall next year after going 3-14 this season.

Here are PFN’s projections for the NFL’s worst teams this fall:

1. Denver Broncos: 3-14
2. New York Giants: 3-14
3. Las Vegas Raiders: 4-13
4. Tennessee Titans: 5-12
5. Arizona Cardinals: 5-12
6. Carolina Panthers: 5-12
7. New Orleans Saints: 5-12
8. Washington Commanders: 6-11

Ouch.

In his latest 2025 NFL mock draft for Touchdown Wire, Curt Popejoy has quarterback Shedeur Sanders going No. 1 overall (to the Dallas Cowboys, who acquire pick No. 1 from the Panthers). That mock has Denver landing Arizona wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan with the No. 3 pick.

Let’s hope these projections look silly in a few months.
