Former Wisconsin linebackers T.J. Watt and Nick Herbig were pictured together towards the tail end of the Pittsburgh Steelers training camp on Thursday.
The photo came from the final day of the Steelers’ satellite camp at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, Pennsylvania.
Watt, who recorded a league-best 19.0 sacks in 2023, didn’t play in Pittsburgh’s Aug. 9 preseason loss to the Texans. Herbig saw the field but failed to scratch the stat sheet.
Nonetheless, the two are firmly entrenched in Teryl Austin’s defensive scheme. Watt, a perennial Defensive Player of the Year candidate, needs no explanation while Herbig, who played 17 games as a rookie in 2023, returns as the No. 2 ROLB in the unit’s depth chart.

Coincidentally, the Steelers also employ former UW standouts Russell Wilson (QB), Isaiahh Loudermilk (DT), Keeanu Benton (DT) and Tyler Beach (OT/OG).
The crew will square off in two more preseason games, one against Buffalo on Aug. 17 and the other vs. Detroit on Aug. 24, before commencing its 2024-25 campaign in Atlanta against the Falcons.
