Report: Vikings inquiring with Saints about Derek Carr to replace injured JJ McCarthy

Is the former longtime Raider and current Saints QB the answer to replace JJ McCarthy?

A lot of teams were in need of a quarterback in April’s draft. Seven team atop the draft were looking to draft a quarterback. The Vikings became the fifth team to get one, selecting Michigan signal caller JJ McCarthy at 10th overall. And they were all set to make him their QB of the present and future until they learned today that he will be lost for the season.

This news has prompted the Vikings to seek out other options. One of the top options is reportedly Saints QB Derek Carr.

Carr joined the Saints just last year after nine seasons with the Raiders. His former team attempted to trade him to New Orleans, but Carr invoked his no-trade clause, forcing them to cut him…where he promptly signed with the Saints.

Now a year later, the Saints are apparently open to moving on from him already, and could be looking to rookie Spencer Rattler to start right away.
