Watch: Brian Baldinger praises Taliese Fuaga’s preseason debut

Taliese Fuaga feels comfortable at left tackle, and Brian Baldinger sees it. The NFL analyst praises the rookie’s swift transition:

“About 18 to 20 plays for Fuaga and it looked pretty good to me.”

Brian Baldinger is quite satisfied with what he saw from New Orleans Saints rookie Taliese Fuaga. Fuaga walked out as the starting left tackle with the starting offensive line. Despite being a career right tackle, Fuaga has been slotted on the left side since the beginning of offseason workouts.

He’s a quick learner and already looks like a natural at the position. Erik McCoy already told us, and Baldinger has come to the same conclusion through watching the film of Fuaga’s preseason debut vs. the Arizona Cardinals.

The Saints are in the process of rebuilding their offensive line, and Fuaga is a great starting piece. Baldinger categorized Fuaga’s film as looking just like his collegiate tape but on the other end of the offensive line.

That’s already a compliment when making the transition from college to the pros, but the compliment holds even more weight when factoring in the position change.

Baldinger broke down three plays from Saturday’s game. On these snaps, Fuaga showed good movement in the run game, strong hand placement in pass protection and the ability to push a defender around the quarterback.
