Nick Wright gives trade proposal to pair LeBron James, Stephen Curry

Would it make sense for the Lakers to do this major trade Nick Wright proposed?

LeBron James is now the proud owner of three Olympic gold medals, and over the last handful of weeks, he also got to practice and play alongside Stephen Curry. Both superstars were outstanding during the Summer Olympics and enjoyed being teammates with each other.

It no doubt led some to wonder what it would be like if James and Curry played on the same NBA team for at least one full season.

Nick Wright gave a trade proposal on Fox Sports 1’s “First Things First” that would allow James and Curry to team up while possibly also giving them a shot at another world championship (h/t The Cold Wire).

Wright’s argument is that right now, James and Curry would get to play with Victor Wembanyama, who is already a star at age 20, as well as Chris Paul, who is a good friend of James. Wright pointed out it wouldn’t hurt the San Antonio Spurs when it comes to the salary cap because James and Curry would likely be gone by the time Wembanyama’s rookie contract ends.

For the Los Angeles Lakers, they would get to start rebuilding with the Spurs’ 2027 first-round pick and the Minnesota Timberwolves’ first-rounder in 2031, which is owned by the Spurs. They would also receive Keldon Johnson, a solid scoring wing, and Harrison Barnes, a veteran 3-and-D wing.

While this is a crazy proposal, there is no doubt some Lakers fans would accept this trade with open arms, if for no other reason than that they feel the team cannot win with James anymore.
