Ravens rookie CB Nate Wiggins steals the show in preseason opener before leaving with shoulder injury

Baltimore Ravens rookie first-round cornerback Nate Wiggins saw his first live action on Friday in the preseason opener against the Philadelphia Eagles. The speedy Clemson corner wasted no time showing that he belonged at the next level with three pass defenses on the very first drive of the game.

Wiggins’ final play of the night was an impressive open-field tackle on third down to end another drive. Following the tackle, Wiggins entered the medical tent before eventually heading into the locker room with what the Ravens described as a shoulder injury.

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh did not give an update on Wiggins during the post-game press conference.

Wiggins is likely to start the season behind cornerbacks Marlon Humphrey and Brandon Stephens on the depth chart but is sure to find his way onto the field if his first preseason performance is any indication.
