The 2024 Leagues Cup has reached the knockout stage, with Club América set to face Liga MX rival Atlas in the last 32 on Friday night.
Along with the Columbus Crew, América is one of just two teams who didn’t participate in the group stage and instead were given a bye directly to the knockout stage.
With no league games on the calendar, América recently played a pair of friendlies against Premier League sides in the United States. André Jardine’s side lost 3-0 to Chelsea before defeating Aston Villa 1-0.

Atlas, meanwhile, is coming off a 2-1 loss to Real Salt Lake, but still advanced thanks to a 1-0 win over the Houston Dynamo to kick off the competition.
The winner of this tie will face the winner of St. Louis City-Portland Timbers in the round of 16.
