Less than 30 days remain until Kentucky opens the 2024 college football season against Southern Miss at Kroger Field (7:45 p.m. ET, SEC Network).
On Thursday, CBS Sports released their preseason “CBS Sports 134” list, which ranks all 134 FBS teams from worst to first. Chip Patterson ranked Kentucky at No. 32, one spot below West Virginia at No. 31 and one spot ahead of Wisconsin at No. 33. Georgia was ranked No. 1 with Ohio State at No. 2 and Oregon at No. 3.
In all, the Wildcats are scheduled to face three teams in the top six of the CBS Sports 134 rankings. Texas was ranked No. 4 with Ole Miss at No. 6; Kentucky travels to Oxford on Sept. 28 and to Austin Nov. 23.
Tennessee, who Kentucky will face Nov. 2 in Knoxville, was ranked No. 15. Louisville fell just outside the Top 25 at No. 26.
Among other SEC opponents on the Wildcats’ schedule are Auburn and Florida, which ranked behind Kentucky at No. 37 and No. 38, respectively.
Southern Miss was ranked No. 116.
