Texas A&M’s 2024 college football season is just five weeks away. Mike Elko’s inaugural season at the helm will begin with a primetime showdown against Notre Dame inside a packed Kyle Field on Saturday, August 31.
With the first fall practice set for Wednesday, July 31, this weekend marks the last of the calendar year for Elko and his staff to completely focus on building the 2025 and 2026 recruiting classes, as the annual recruiting pool party is currently taking place.
However, several prospects visited campus later in the week, including 2026 4-star wide receiver Jalen Lott, who recently toured the facilities while meeting with various members of the coaching staff.
Lott is set to enter his junior season at Panther Creek HS in Frisco, Texas. In addition to football, the speedster competes in track and field in the high jump, long jump, and 300-meter hurdles.
During his 2023 sophomore season, Lott recorded 29 receptions, 513 yards, and five touchdowns through the air. Lott’s father, James Lott, was a starting cornerback for the Texas Longhorns from 1983 to 1985.
As stated in his post on X, Lott plans to return to Texas A&M and attend the 2024 season opener vs. Notre Dame.
Really enjoyed my visit to @AggieFootball to check out facilities and visit with Coaches. I'll be back in town August 31st for @AggieFootball vs Norte Dame. pic.twitter.com/dGxLmmcmZA
