One of the members of the Oregon Ducks’ 2025 recruiting class decided to flip his commitment on Thursday evening.
4-star defensive lineman Josiah Sharma announced that he would be committing to the Texas Longhorns, flipping his commitment from the Ducks. Sharma originally committed to the Ducks just under a month ago on June 28.
Sharma was rated by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 245 overall player in the 2025 class, and the No. 30 defensive lineman in the nation. He was one of the lower-rated players in Oregon’s No. 5-ranked 2025 class.
Though he wasn’t one of the premiere members of the class, Sharma was one of the only defensive lineman in the Ducks’ 2025 haul. The only other member of the DL now is EDGE Matthew Johnson.

We will see what Dan Lanning and his coaching staff have planned for the rest of the cycle, but this is certainly something that they should be able to bounce back from going forward.
