Wisconsin football to host open training camp practice in early August

The Wisconsin Badgers football program announced that it will host an open practice at Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium at UW-Platteville on Saturday, Aug. 10, per a social media post on Monday.

Staged at 9:30 a.m. CT,  UW football will utilize the University of Wisconsin–Platteville’s home field to give fans a first glimpse at the team before it starts the 2024 campaign.

Gates will open to the public at 8:30 a.m. Pre-practice activity is slated to commence at 9:00 a.m. Tickets cost $5, and children under the age of 12 can enter free of charge. Platteville, Wisconsin is located roughly 75 miles southwest of Madison for those interested in making the trip.

This will be the second straight year Luke Fickell and his program hold part of their training camp in Platteville. UW-Madison and UW-Platteville are engaged in a three-year training camp partnership that will extend for the next few years.

Wisconsin enters its 2024 slate after going 7-6 during Luke Fickell’s first full year manning the sidelines in Madison. To compete in a newly-expanded 18-team Big Ten Conference, UW will aim to secure signature wins over teams like Alabama, Oregon and USC this fall.

The Badgers begin their season on Aug. 30 against Western Michigan at Camp Randall Stadium.
