Giants head coach would have traded up to draft QB Jayden Daniels

The latest episode of Hard Knocks reveals the Giants head coach was willing to move up in the 2024 NFL Draft to select Daniels

One of the biggest takeaways from this week’s episode of Hard Knocks featuring the New York Giants comes courtesy of the draft room. In a behind-the-scenes look at the Giants draft war room, we learned that head coach Brian Daboll was ready to move up to land a new quarterback.

Specifically, Daboll indicated that he would have been fine trading up to land LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels. The Heisman winner wound up being the No. 2 overall pick to New York NFC East rival, the Washington Commanders.

“Daniels?” Daboll says when asked if he would trade up. “Yeah I would.”

The Giants wound up staying put at No. 6 overall and selected Daniels’ LSU running mate, wide receiver Malik Nabers. New York did not select a quarterback in 2024.

The revelation about Daniels comes a week after it appeared that the quarterback didn’t handle a pre-draft interview question from Daboll very well.
