Steve Sarkisian, Jeff Banks and the Texas Longhorns continue to find a ton of success on the recruiting trail as they have just landed their 15th commitment in the 2025 class in four-star TE Nick Townsend.
The Longhorns 2025 class is shaping up nicely as they currently hold the No. 14 recruiting class in the cycle with Townsend being their ninth four-star. Townsend is also the highest-rated TE that Sarkisian has been able to land since arriving on the Forty, three and a half years ago.
Townsend is the No. 4 ranked TE in the 2025 class and the No. 88 ranked player overall at 6’4 and 255 pounds. As a Spring, TX native, it was always imperative for the Longhorns staff to keep him in-state with the Alabama Crimson Tide and USC Trojans breathing down their neck.
Outside of starting TE, Amari Niblack, it is one of the weaker positions on the Texas roster. So, I wouldn’t be too surprised to see Townsend making his way up the depth chart rather quickly.
