After another rainy weekend at the Chicago Street Course, NASCAR will start the weekend at Pocono Raceway soon. In 2023, the weather cooperated and allowed NASCAR to run the Cup Series race on Sunday; however, the weather has been difficult in previous years. With NASCAR ready for Pocono, the forecast looks questionable once again.
According to Weather.com, the weather forecast at Pocono Raceway calls for a high of 85° and a 20% chance of rain on Sunday. This is different from Saturday, which calls for a high of 81° and a 60% chance of rain. On Friday, the forecast calls for a high of 75° and a 55% chance of rain. Thankfully, the rain is projected to clear out by the Cup Series race on Sunday.
The rain is supposed to arrive at Pocono on Friday evening, which could affect the Truck Series event. On Saturday, it’s mainly in the morning hours, so NASCAR could run a doubleheader if needed. The hope is that NASCAR can practice and qualify, but the biggest concern is the Truck Series event. Hopefully, the forecast clears out completely and allows a full weekend of racing.
