Hard Knocks cameras showed the difficult contract conversation between the Giants GM and Saquon Barkley

This was a little hard to watch.

The cool thing about this version of Hard Knocks starring the New York Giants is we’re seeing stuff we might not normally get a look at, like some trade talk with GM Joe Schoen or a moment in which Jayden Daniels might have failed his combine interview.

This time, it was the difficult conversation Schoen needed to have with star running back Saquon Barkley, who, as we know now, left the Giants for the NFC East rival Philadelphia Eagles.

Schoen told Barkley he wouldn’t get the franchise tag again and that he’d let him hit the open market, see what his value is and then he could come back to the Giants. Schoen asked for his word about circling back with the franchise, and Barkley coldly replied, “I already told you where I want to be.”

Hey, it makes sense for both sides and shows what value Barkley found on the open market.
