It is still a long way until the 2028 basketball class can sign with any team, but that doesn’t mean Ohio State basketball is waiting around to offer a prospect it believes will be a great fit.
That happened on Tuesday afternoon, as the Buckeyes offered in-state guard, [autotag]Kameron Mercer[/autotag]. The Cincinnati native now holds three offers (Cincinnati and Xavier) at this extremely early stage of his recruitment. More will surely be on the way for the 6-foot, 5-inch and 175-pound incoming high school freshman.
Mercer is already considered one of the best prospects in his class, if not the best.
After a great conversation with head coach @JakeDiebler I'm blessed to receive my 3rd full division one offer from the University of Ohio State. pic.twitter.com/4Cby72N6ly

The focus on retaining Ohio’s best prospects has been at the forefront of Ohio State’s recruiting for new head coach [autotag]Jake Diebler[/autotag], and this early offer to Mercer is more proof of that.
