Brad Stevens has constructed one of the most dominant rosters in NBA history. The current version of the Boston Celtics overcame all challengers during the 2023-24 season, ending a 16-year wait for the franchises’ 18th championship banner. Since moving into the front office, Stevens has been producing a masterclass in team building.
However, the national media rarely credits Stevens for his front-office work. Instead, they consistently looked for ways to discredit the Celtics’ chances of winning the championship, often picking fault with the team’s play style or perceived lack of competitive edge. All those narratives were dispelled when the Celtics overcame Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving in five games during the NBA Finals.
In a recent YouTube Video, “Alex Hoops” looks at the job Stevens has done in constructing one of the best rosters in the NBA, and how he pieced the puzzle together so that every player complemented their teammates’ skill set.
