Former LSU baseball infielder Austen Roellig announces transfer destination

Austen Roellig is heading to Utah after taking a redshirt year at LSU in 2024.

One of LSU’s top signees in the 2023 class has announced his transfer destination. Infielder [autotag]Austen Roellig[/autotag] has committed to Utah in the portal, according to LSU Country’s Zack Nagy.

Roellig didn’t appear in any games for the Tigers as a true freshman in 2024, taking a redshirt year. Coming out of high school, he ranked as the No. 234 player nationally as well as the No. 51 shortstop.

Now, he’ll join a Utah team that enters its first year as a member of the Big 12 and is still looking for its first NCAA tournament appearance under coach Gary Henderson, who enters his fourth season at the helm of the program.

Roellig was one of several true freshmen to enter the transfer portal following LSU’s 2024 season.
