In 2022, a Boston Celtics fan went viral when he got a tattoo that predicted the team would win a championship. The body art was in the shape of a banner that hung in the TD Garden rafters. Ime Udoka’s team was ultimately defeated by the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals.
Boston returned to the finals this season and defeated the Dallas Mavericks in five games, ending a 16-year championship drought. As such, the Celtics fan in question updated his ink by adding an asterisk and the number four to the banner.
Given the virality of the initial tattoo and the fan social media presence in the following years, his decision to have the updated ink has since made the news, with the CBS News story being shared across the internet.
