In the latest two-round Draft Wire mock draft by Jeff Risdon, UCLA’s Laiatu Latu lands with the Los Angeles Rams after a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Eagles send the #22 and #53 picks to the Rams in return for the #19 and #83 pick. With the 22nd pick, the Rams select Latu. According to Risdon, the Eagles make the trade to acquire the offensive tackle from Alabama JC Latham. In return, the Rams reconfigure their draft board and move into the second round.
Here’s what was written by Cameron Da Silva of Rams Wire:
This would be a pretty ideal scenario for the Rams, who trade down three spots and move up 30 spots on Day 2 in the process. Not to mention, they land a player who should be one of their top targets in Latu. With Aaron Donald retired, the Rams need pass-rush help badly and Latu is one of the top edge rushers in the class. There could be some concerns about his injury history but he’s a Day 1 starter on a defense that could use a lot of talent. – Cameron DaSilva, Rams Wire
The Rams have limited early-round draft capital in 2024, only holding four picks in the top 150. As a result, this trade would give them more maneuverability on the board and give them a shot at adding another second-round pick.
