The New Orleans Pelicans (47-32) square off against the Sacramento Kings (45-34) Thursday with tip-off from Golden 1 Center set for 10 p.m. ET (TNT). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Pelicans vs. Kings odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Season series: Pelicans lead 4-0

The Pels have won 2 straight after road victories over the Phoenix Suns and Portland Trail Blazers. They lost 5 of 6 before that stretch as they arrive in Sac Town. Oddly enough, all of those losses were at home, and they’ve won 4 straight on the road. G Trey Murphy III opened up his game with 31 points and 8 boards Tuesday against Portland, and he has been in double figures in 8 straight.

The Kings had a 1-3 road trip after a 112-105 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder Tuesday. C Domantas Sabonis was ineffective with just 8 points on 2-for-7 shooting, 13 boards and 5 assists. G Keon Ellis introduced himself with 26 points on 8-for-15 from 3-point land.

Pelicans at Kings and predictions

Prediction

Kings 111, Pelicans 107

Moneyline

We’re going to buck some trends here, but I’ll serve you a large helping of rationale.

The Pelicans have the fact they’ve won all 4 meetings working against them. It’s extremely hard, especially against a playoff team, to beat a team 5 times in a regular season. The Pelicans have won 4 straight road games. Cash is pouring in on the Pelicans, but I mentioned the emergence of Ellis in the opening. This is big because the Kings have been searching for another depth option behind Sabonis and De’Aaron Fox with Huerter and Monk out. He dropped 13 on 3-for-3 shooting from 3-point land in 12 minutes last time these teams met.

Take KEON ELLIS OVER 1.5 3-POINTERS and look to the spread.

Against the spread

If you’re on board with the Kings getting some revenge on their home court, the KINGS -1.5 (+100) provides the most value. The Pelicans are playing without Ingram, and while they’ve won 4 straight on the road, their uninspiring play at home is rather glaring.

Over/Under

The Pels are 4-6 O/U over their last 10, and Sacramento is 2-8. The Under is 3-1 in this matchup this season. This total is nearly 20 points lower than the next lowest total they’ve squared off at.

I think this one sneaks OVER 215.5 (-110).
