The Georgia Bulldogs have started spring practice as Georgia builds toward its April 13 spring scrimmage. Head coach Kirby Smart and Georgia have 28 new players on the roster this spring. The Bulldogs added 22 early enrollees and six transfers including three wide receivers.
“There is a lot of competition out there. As a whole, the overall field is probably a little younger than I remember in the past,” said Kirby Smart. Georgia lost a dozen players to the NFL draft this offseason and 20 players to the transfer portal.
“It is a lot of new faces out there. That is the biggest difference. They are progressing well and practicing well,” said Kirby Smart.
Georgia does return numerous experienced players like quarterback Carson Beck, offensive guard Tate Ratledge and defensive tackle Nazir Stackhouse. The Bulldogs bring back seven All-SEC performers from last year.
