Analyzing the terms of new Dolphins DL Neville Gallimore’s contract

Here’s what new Dolphins DL Neville Gallimore’s contract looks like.

Entering the offseason, the Miami Dolphins had two key players along their defensive line set to hit the market – Christian Wilkins and Raekwon Davis. With that knowledge, the team had to attack defensive tackle this offseason, and they signed a number of free agents at the position, including Neville Gallimore.

Gallimore, 27, agreed to a one-year deal worth $1.79 million to join the Dolphins after spending his first four seasons with the Dallas Cowboys.

According to Over the Cap, Gallimore will receive a $1.13 million base salary (fully guaranteed) and a $665,000 bonus at signing. His cap number for the 2024 season is $1.79 million.

There’s a strong chance that the former Oklahoma Sooner will be on the roster at the start of the regular season, considering Miami doesn’t save any money if they were to release him and would incur a dead-cap hit of $1.79 million.

Replacing Wilkins and Davis won’t be an easy task, but the Dolphins seem to be trying to do so by committee with the signings of Benito Jones and Johnathan Harris as well as the re-signing of Da’Shawn Hand.
