UFC CEO Dana White promised one more fight was coming for UFC 300, and now it’s official.
Ranked lightweights [autotag]Renato Moicano[/autotag] and [autotag]Jalin Turner[/autotag] will meet in the final addition for the monumental event, which takes place April 13 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas with a main card that airs on pay-per-view following prelims on ESPN.
The promotion announced the matchup between Moicano (18-5-1 MMA, 10-5 UFC) and Turner (14-7 MMA, 7-4 UFC) during Saturday’s UFC 299 broadcast.
Moicano, 34, is an honorable mention in the latest USA TODAY Sports/MMA Junkie lightweight rankings and is coming off a largely one-sided decision win over Drew Dober at UFC Fight Night 235 in February in what was his return to competition from a 15-month layoff. The Brazilian is 4-1 in his past five fights, with the lone blemish coming to former UFC champ Rafael dos Anjos.
He’ll look to extend that run against fellow honorable mention Turner, who will attempt to build off a brutal knockout finish of Bobby Green at UFC on ESPN 52 in December. The result snapped Turner’s two-fight losing skid, both of which were split decision results against Dan Hooker and Mateusz Gamrot.
The latest UFC 300 lineup now includes:
- Alex Pereira vs. Jamahal Hill – for light heavyweight title
- Zhang Weili vs. Yan Xiaonan – for strawweight title
- Justin Gaethje vs. Max Holloway – for BMF title
- Cody Brundage vs. Bo Nickal
- Charles Oliveira vs. Arman Tsarukyan
- Jiri Prochazka vs. Aleksandar Rakic
