Ironically, it was the first time Thompson had come off the bench since his rookie season, meaning almost all of those 15,000 points had come as a starter.

Thompson reflected on his historic career with the Warriors when speaking to the media after the game. He discussed the feat meant to him and the honor that comes with being part of such an exclusive club of former Warriors players.

It hasn’t been an easy season for Thompson. He’s navigating impending free agency while coming to terms with the limitations of his body following two serious injuries and the natural effects of aging.
