Top 10 scoring games in UNC basketball history

There were a ton of high-scoring players in the 20th century for UNC basketball. We go into brief detail about the Top 10 here.

There’s been a lot of great scorers in the long, storied history of UNC basketball.

The most obvious name is Michael Jordan – the GOAT – who’s won both an NCAA Championship and multiple NBA titles. There’s also Coby White, who’s also carving a name for himself as another budding star with the Chicago Bulls, Joel Berry, Tyler Hansbrough, Justin Jackson and – most recently – current Tar Heel guard RJ Davis.

Oddly enough, none of the above players I mentioned have any of the Top-10, in-game scoring records. You’ll have to take a trip back to the 20th century to find those.

Luckily for you, we’re gonna talk about those players.

You recognize the names Bobby Lewis, Billy Cunningham, Lennie Rosenbluth, George Glamack, Charlie Scott or Shamond Williams? They all hold the in-game scoring records, spanning from the early 1940’s to the late 1990’s, but Rosenbluth was the only Top-10 in-game scorer to win a National Championship.

With the way Davis is currently playing, he could easily join the Top 10 scoring list. He’ll need to break into the 40’s – luckily for Davis, UNC has plenty of scorers on this year’s team.

As we still hold the Miami victory fresh in our minds, let’s take a trip back to the 20th century:
