[autotag]Shane van Gisbergen[/autotag] signed a developmental deal with Trackhouse Racing for the 2024 NASCAR season, which includes starts in different series. Most notably, van Gisbergen will run full-time in the No. 97 Xfinity car for Kaulig Racing. Now, the former Supercars Championship driver has some starts in the NASCAR Cup Series.
On Thursday afternoon, Kaulig Racing announced that van Gisbergen will make seven starts in the No. 16 Cup car in 2024. The entry has a charter and will contain part-time drivers throughout the season. Most notably, van Gisbergen will make starts in both races at Talladega, the Coca-Cola 600, and the Chicago Street Course, which is the location of his first NASCAR victory.

These are going to be very important starts for van Gisbergen as he runs his first full-time NASCAR schedule. He hasn’t competed at an oval track in the Cup Series, so earning experience at both Talladega races and Las Vegas will be good for him. In 2024, van Gibsergen will be one of the top NASCAR storylines as he looks to make a name for himself within the sport.
