Panthers reportedly interviewing 2 more GM candidates on Monday

Kansas City’s Brandt Tilis and Baltimore’s Nick Matteo are reportedly interviewing for the Panthers’ GM job today.

Two high-ranking individuals from two high-ranking organizations are set to talk to the Carolina Panthers about their general manager position.

According to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, the Panthers are interviewing Kansas City Chiefs vice president of football operations Brandt Tilis and Baltimore Ravens vice president of football administration Nick Matteo today. They are two of 11 known candidates for the organization’s front-office opening.

Tilis is currently in his 14th season with the Chiefs. He’s also served as Kansas City’s director of football administration (2017 to 2020), director of salary cap and football operations analytics (2014 to 2016) and as a salary cap/contract analyst (2010 to 2013).

Matteo, another numbers guy, is now in his fourth season for Baltimore. He—per the Ravens’ official site—”oversees all areas of football administration, including day-to-day salary cap management and general roster transactions.”

To this point, the Panthers have also reportedly locked in or conducted interviews with Philadelphia Eagles assistant general manager Alec Halaby, Indianapolis Colts assistant general manager Ed Dodds, Las Vegas Raiders interim general manager Champ Kelly and with two of their own in assistant general manager Dan Morgan and vice president of football administration Samir Suleiman.
