The Atlanta Falcons have requested an interview with Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald for their head coach vacancy, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Thursday evening.
From 2014-2020, Maconald worked his way up the coaching ladder in Baltimore. He served as the Ravens defensive backs coach and linebackers coach before leaving to be the defensive coordinator at the University of Michigan in 2021.
Macdonald returned to Baltimore in 2022, where he has served as the defensive coordinator for the last two seasons.

The Falcons have reportedly requested interviews with nine total coaches thus far, but many around the NFL believe Bill Belichick is the team’s preferred choice.
