Ohio State wide receiver Emeka Egbuka will be forgoing the 2024 NFL draft to return for his senior season. He announced his decision to stay via Instagram on Thursday.
“During my time thus far at Ohio State I have grown and learned more than I thought possible,” Egbuka wrote on the graphic announcing his decision. “Over the last couple weeks as I continued to pray and seek the Lord on what was in store…I feel that the path He has laid before has become clear.”
Egbuka has been one of the most productive receivers in the country over the past two years, with 515 receiving yards this season and a staggering 1,151 yards as a sophomore in 2022.
His Ohio State career thus far includes 124 catches, 1,857 receiving yards, and 14 touchdowns (10 of which came in 2022).
Egbuka’s stellar sophomore campaign, when he operated next to Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Marvin Harrison Jr. in an offense led by C.J. Stroud, featured six 100-yard performances in just 13 games, including 125 yards and a touchdown in the regular-season finale against Michigan and 112 yards and a touchdown in a heartbreaking loss to Georgia in the semifinals.
Egbuka was a likely day-two selection in the 2024 draft, and he was the No. 8 receiver and No. 39 overall prospect on PFF’s Big Board.
