Alabama’s secondary earned some good news and bad news early Thursday afternoon when ESPN’s Chris Low reported that defensive back Malachi Moore would forgo the NFL draft, but that Terrion Arnold and Kool-Aid McKinstry would be declaring.
While Moore’s decision may come as a bit of a surprise to some, Arnold and McKinstry’s decisions are not. They are both considered to be first-round caliber players that can have immediate impacts on whichever teams they end up on.
While this may sting a bit for Crimson Tide fans, it’s important to remember that this is a position Nick Saban deals with personally and takes pride in coaching. It is a positional group that has never been lackluster in Tuscaloosa.
Alabama CBs Kool-Aid McKinstry and Terrion Arnold plan to enter the 2024 NFL draft and won’t return to the Crimson Tide next season, sources tell ESPN. However, starting LB Deontae Lawson and starting DB Malachi Moore have told coaches they plan to return.
