The University of Alabama lost a heartbreaker on Monday night against the University of Michigan in the semifinals of the College Football Playoffs. A loss like that can either send top NFL draft prospects back to school for unfinished business or push them straight to the next level.
Edge rusher Dallas Turner chose the latter after Monday’s game according to ESPN’s Alex Scarborough. Turner is a junior and finished his season with nine sacks as a 3-4 outside linebacker.
No surprise but Alabama standout edge Dallas Turner tells me he’s turning pro. “I’m gone. Ain’t no if, ands or buts about it.”

Turner is a complete player who can come off the edge and rush the pass, use a strong upper body to hold up against the run and be athletic enough to drop into coverage. He should be a sure first-round pick and if he measures well in offseason workouts could push UCLA’s Laiatu Latu to be the top edge defender off the board in the 2024 NFL draft.
