NEW YORK — The Brooklyn Nets welcomed the Detroit Pistons to Barclays Center on Saturday for the second leg of a back-to-back and won 126-115.
For the Nets, Mikal Bridges had 29 points and seven assists while Cam Thomas had 20 points and three assists. Cam Johnson had 18 points and Spencer Dinwiddie had 14 points.
For the Pistons, Jaden Ivey had 23 points and seven assists while Cade Cunningham had 22 points and six assists. Isaiah Stewart had 20 points and Bogdan Bogdanovic had 19 points.
In the first half, the Pistons stormed out to a 6-0 lead to begin the first quarter, but after that, the Nets woke up and started playing the way that they were expected to heading into this contest. In the second quarter, Detroit actually won the period 35-33, but they went into halftime trailing the Nets 65-56 with Mikal Bridges putting up 19 points and five assists.
In the second half, the game was still closely contested between the Nets and the Pistons, but with the lead that Brooklyn built in the first half, Detroit wasn’t able to make much of a dent in the deficit. The Nets continued to get good play out of Bridges and Thomas and that allowed them to finish the win in style while giving some of the younger players playing time.
