SIGNED: 4-star safety Kingston Lopa is officially a Duck

The Oregon Ducks officially signed 4-star safety Kingston Lopa, adding him to the 2024 class.

There are a select few positions on the Oregon Ducks roster that could be described as an area of real need this offseason, and Dan Lanning just added an elite player at that position.

4-star safety Kingston Lopa officially signed his national letter of intent on Wednesday, joining the 2024 class. Lopa is rated by 247Sports as the No. 216 player in the 2024 class, and the No. 19 safety in the nation. Standing at 6-foot-5, 190 pounds, Lopa was a safety linebacker hybrid at the high school linebacker that should provide some great coverage abilities for the Ducks at the next level. He is one of several defensive backs whom Oregon was able to add to the roster in the 2024 class.

Lopa was previously committed to the Arizona Wildcats, but he decommitted back in April of 2023 and chose the Ducks not long after.

While the Ducks have a need for safety talent in 2024, it is unclear how quickly Lopa will be able to establish himself on the depth chart and see a lot of the field.

Here are some of Lopa’s highlights:
