DETROIT — Young Philadelphia 76ers guard Jaden Springer continues to seek his spot in the league. He has taken steps forward on the floor defensively, but his offensive skills need polishing.
In his third season in the league, Springer has averaged 11.3 minutes, 3.4 points and 1.8 rebounds per night in 12 games. That is a big jump for him from 3 minutes per game as a rookie and 5.6 per game in the 2022-23 season.
While Springer is still looking to find his way, Sixers veteran Nic Batum compared the young guard to another young guard he played with while a member of the Los Angeles Clippers: Terance Mann.
“I like him,” Batum said of Springer. “I like him a lot. You know, it’s funny because I was talking to a friend about it like, he reminds me a little bit of Terance Mann when I got to the Clippers three years ago. It was same situation for him and Terance Mann, so he ended up doing pretty well so I can see the same growth in him.”

Mann has a similar skill set to Springer: an ability to defend at a high level, skills at multiple positions and the toughness to give the Clippers an option on the wing.
Mann is a guy Springer would love to emulate as they move forward. If the third-year guard out of Tennessee can add a 3-point shot that will make a big difference for both his and Philadelphia’s future.
