Colorado lands its first scholarship transfer offensive lineman of the offseason

Colorado landed its potential starting center

Colorado’s new and improved offensive line is beginning to take shape.

Two days after top-ranked 2024 tackle Jordan Seaton gave his commitment, UConn transfer Yakiri Walker did the same on Saturday morning. Walker was the Huskies’ starting center this past season, grading out at 65.5, per Pro Football Focus.

The 6-foot-2, 267-pound redshirt sophomore was a three-star prospect out of DeSoto High School (Texas), the same program that produced Laviska Shenault Jr., Von Miller and current Buffs safety Jaden Milliner-Jones.

After redshirting in 2021, Walker played in six games the following season at center and left tackle before earning the starting center job this past fall.

On3 ranked Walker as the 16th-best interior offensive lineman in the transfer portal. Other schools that offered him in the portal include Charlotte, Memphis, Bowling Green and Northern Arizona.

Eligibility-wise, Walker has two years to play two.
