Packers CB Jaire Alexander inactive vs. Chiefs on SNF

Packers CB Jaire Alexander will miss a third consecutive game and a seventh game overall in 2023. He is inactive vs. the Chiefs.

The Green Bay Packers will be without All-Pro cornerback Jaire Alexander on Sunday night against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. A lingering shoulder injury will force Alexander, who is inactive in Week 13, to miss a third consecutive game and seventh game overall this season.

Alexander injured his shoulder in Week 9 vs. the Rams and hasn’t played since. Even a mini-bye following the Packers’ win on Thursday of last week wasn’t enough for him to get game ready.

There is some good news. Linebacker De’Vondre Campbell, receiver Jayden Reed, safety Darnell Savage, receiver Dontayvion Wicks, safety Rudy Ford and cornerback Robert Rochell are all active despite being listed as questionable.

Here are the Packers’ inactives for Week 13:

CB Jaire Alexander
RB Aaron Jones
LB Brenton Cox Jr.
T Caleb Jones
TE Josiah Deguara
WR Samori Toure

Jones (knee) was ruled out on Friday. Deguara and Alexander are the only two inactives from a list of eight players who were questionable to play. Cox, Jones and Toure are all healthy scratches.

The Packers will start A.J. Dillon at running back and Carrington Valentine, Corey Ballentine and Keisean Nixon at cornerback. Rookie Henry Pearson was elevated from the practice squad to fill in for Deguara for the second consecutive week.
