BOSTON–The Philadelphia 76ers should have been blown out on Friday. They invaded the TD Garden and took on the Boston Celtics without the services of Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, Nic Batum, Kelly Oubre Jr., and Danuel House Jr. That’s a lot to overcome on the road. Especially, against a team like the Celtics.

However, that’s the thing about the NBA: it can be unpredictable.

The other guys on the Sixers’ roster are pros, too. They have the talent and although they are not “stars” or anything of the sort, they can still go out there and hoop. The Sixers gave the big, bad Celtics everything they could handle.

Patrick Beverley led Philadelphia with 26 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists in a 125-119 loss to the Celtics. De’Anthony Melton had 21 points, and Robert Covington added 18 points, five rebounds, and five steals. Mo Bamba also added 11 and six boards.

Afterward, Beverley and the Sixers found the silver linings in the loss.
