The Buffalo Bills decided to kneel the ball down with 20 seconds left against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Considering the circumstances and how the game unfolded in the end, it was a controversial decision that falls at the feet of Sean McDermott.
The Bills (6-6) eventually lost 37-34 to the Eagles (10-1) in overtime. Could the outcome be different if Buffalo decided not to kneel the ball down with 20 seconds left after the game was tied? The Bills had a timeout and Josh Allen as their quarterback, after all.
According to McDermott, factors such as the weather and only having one timeout instead of multiple played a part.
“I thought about it. I thought about going for it. It’s just with their pass rushers and 20 seconds,” the coach said.
