Following the Ohio State game, Rutgers football offers Cincinnati defensive lineman

Rutgers football offered Gordy Sulfsted on Saturday.

Shortly after Rutgers football lost to No. 1 Ohio State on Saturday afternoon, Gordy Sulfsted was offered by the Scarlet Knights.

It is the sixth Power Five offer and third coming from a Big Ten program for Sulfsted, who is a 6-foot-5, 235-pound defensive lineman for St. Xavier (Cincinnati, Ohio). He is a three-star recruit and a member of the 2025 recruiting class.

Sulfsted counts offers from Cincinnati, Iowa, Louisville, Minnesota and Pittsburgh.

As a junior, he had 39 total tackles, 2.5 sacks and 5.5 tackles for a loss.

One of the top teams in Ohio, St. Xavier went 7-5 this past season. They saw a four-game winning streak snapped with a loss on Friday night to Archbishop Moeller (Cincinnati, Ohio).

Sulfsted tweeted about the offer from Rutgers several hours after the game:

Rutgers battled Ohio State tough on Saturday, holding a 9-7 lead at halftime. The Scarlet Knights were down 21-16 early in the fourth quarter.

The defense in particular played well, limiting Ohio State to just 15 first downs.
