Giants’ Darren Waller, Tyrod Taylor may land on IR

New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll leaves open the possibility that TE Darren Waller and QB Tyrod Taylor land on injured reserve.

The New York Giants’ season has not been what anyone expected after how much potential they showed last season. While not everything can be blamed on injuries, a lot of the problems stem from missing personnel.

That situation isn’t going to get better as both quarterback Tyrod Taylor and tight end Darren Waller could soon land on injured reserve (IR), says head coach Brian Daboll.

Both Taylor and Waller left the game against the New York Jets on Sunday in the first half and have been ruled out for a Week 9 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Taylor spent one night at the hospital under observation for a rib cage injury. Waller left the game with a hamstring injury, which is unrelated to the hamstring injury he previously endured.

Although Waller and Taylor are out, the Giants will see the return of quarterback Daniel Jones and the potential returns of both left tackle Andrew Thomas and right tackle Evan Neal.
