Eagles among teams looking to add CB depth ahead of NFL trade deadline

With the NFL trade deadline just hours away, it appears the Eagles are in the cornerback market.

The NFL is an arm’s race and with the late season stretch approaching, the most successful teams will survive by adding talent that can stop the pass.

Chicago Bears cornerback Jaylon Johnson is looking to be traded and according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, Philadelphia is among the teams looking to add depth at the position.

Jordan Schultz reports that the Eagles are one of four teams discussing a deal for Johnson, but the cornerback desires an extension and wants to be among the highest paid at his position.

The Eagles have dealt with injuries at cornerback, and had rookies Sydney Brown and Eli Ricks playing in the slot against the Commanders last Sunday.

All-Pros Darius Slay and James Bradberry have both been solid, but they’ve dealt with injuries and Philadelphia can ill-afford to enter the postseason without adequate depth in the secondary.
