Jrue Holiday challenged Derrick White to a Celtics block competition for 2023-24

The Boston Celtics have a competitive backcourt in more than one sense, it seems.

The Boston Celtics have a competitive backcourt in more than one sense, it seems. Veteran Celtics guards Derrick White and Jrue Holiday are engaged in a friendly competition to see who can accumulate the most blocks by the end of the NBA’s 2023-24 season.

Both players have demonstrated their shot-blocking skills, and the Celtics are benefiting from their defensive skills. The Celtics’ defense, particularly their drop defense, has been effective early in this season, with teammates Kristaps Porzingis, Jayson Tatum, and Jaylen Brown all contributing to their strong defensive lineup. The team’s defensive strategy focuses on making Porzingis as effective as possible and not allowing him to be exploited. While the Celtics have shown promise on both ends of the court, they will face stiff competition from other talented teams in the NBA, particularly in the West.
