The Denver Nuggets (2-0) and Oklahoma City Thunder (2-0) meet Sunday with tipoff from Paycom Center set for 3:30 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Nuggets vs. Thunder odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.
Season series: First meeting; Nuggets won 3-1 last season
Denver picked up a 108-104 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies Friday, but did not cover as 5.5-point favorites. The star-studded duo of C Nikola Jokic and G Jamal Murray combined for 44 points in the win. Denver was sloppy, however, committing 19 turnovers and allowing 22 fast-break points.
Oklahoma City came away with a 108-105 road win vs. the Cleveland Cavaliers Friday, covering as a 2.5-point underdog. All-Star G Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has been hot to start the season, averaging 32.5 points on 61.4% shooting while also averaging 8 rebounds and 7 assists per game.

Nuggets at Thunder picks and predictions
Prediction
Nuggets 120, Thunder 117
Moneyline
LEAN NUGGETS (-155).
I like the Thunder and I love the hot start from Gilgeous-Alexander, but I don’t see his efforts being enough to stop the duo of Murray and Jokic. Murray has been hot from 3 to start the season, shooting 50% from beyond the arc on 14 attempts. I expect Murray and Gilgeous-Alexander to battle scoring-wise, but the Thunder have no players who can battle with Jokic.
Against the spread
LEAN THUNDER -3.5 (-115).
This should be a close game, especially given OKC’s home-court advantage and SGA’s red-hot start to the season. Both teams have some good 3-point snipers who will play a big role in this game. I like the defense and length of OKC F Chet Holmgren to slow down Nuggets F Aaron Gordon and limit his impact on the game. If SGA continues his hot start and the Thunder slow down Denver’s role players, they will be able to keep this game close.
Over/Under
BET OVER 229.5 (-110).
Neither squad has allowed an opponent to score 110 points, but I expect that to change for both units here. The Thunder average 16 made 3-pointers a game and the Nuggets average 14, and that will help carry this game to the Over.
