Georgia women’s basketball picked to finish No. 7 in SEC

UGA women’s basketball is hoping to return the NCAA Tournament again in 2023-2024

The Georgia Bulldogs women’s basketball team has been picked to finish No. 7 in the SEC. The Georgia women’s team made the 2023 NCAA Tournament as a No. 10 seed last year before losing in the round of 32 to Iowa. Georgia finished No. 6 in the SEC last season with a final record of 22-12 (9-7 in SEC play).

Head coach Katie Abrahamson-Henderson is hoping the Dawgs can return to the NCAA Tournament in 2023-2024. Georgia’s leading returning scorer is Javyn Nicholson, who averaged 9.6 points and 7.0 rebounds per game last season.

The media picked the defending national champion LSU Tigers to win the SEC in 2023-2024. South Carolina, who went 36-1 last year, is projected to finish second in the conference.

LSU star Angel Reese has been named as the conference’s preseason Player of the Year. Georgia did not have any players make the preseason All-SEC team.
