The Buffalo Bills held workouts with a pair of tight ends this week, EJ Jenkins and Austin Allen. The decision likely relates to the team’s injury report.
Ahead of facing the New England Patriots (1-5) in Week 7, the Bills (4-2) have seen their three rostered tight ends all listed on the injury report: Dalton Kincaid (concussion) and Dawson Knox (wrist) and Quintin Morris (ankle).
But the finer details from the injury report indicate Buffalo was only doing their due diligence on Jenkins and Allen.
Kincaid did not play in last week’s win over the New York Giants. However, him and Knox are both listed as full participants on the injury report.
Morris did not practice on Wednesday but did play through his injury against the Giants.
Jenkins converted from receiver to tight end in the NFL. He was a 2023 underdrafted rookie free agent signing of the New York Jets.
Allen entered the NFL with the New York Giants in 2022 as a UDFA. He spent this past summer’s training camp with the Green Bay Packers.
