Points were at a premium to begin the New England Patriots’ game against the Las Vegas Raiders.
The defense ruled the early parts of the game, and safety Jabrill Peppers made a thunderous hit on Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams that led to an interception by linebacker Jahlani Tavai. Although the turnover did not lead to any points, Peppers certainly sent a message.
It was Peppers’ first take away in the last four games, and it gave the New England offense a starting point. The hit came from across the middle, as the safety lowered his shoulder for the boom.

It will be interesting to see how the rest of the game plays out. Right now, however, the Patriots will need to rely on their defense to make an impact.
