On July 1, 2024, the Oklahoma Sooners and the Texas Longhorns will officially join the Southeastern Conference.
They’re taking a step into arguably the greatest football conference in the country. The SEC also boasts incredible softball, baseball, women’s basketball and gymnastics programs. With the addition of OU and Texas, there’s a strong argument to be made that the SEC would be the best conference in those three sports.
Even though the Big 12 and ACC can still boast strong men’s basketball conferences, the Sooners and Longhorns addition to the SEC will also strengthen its ranks.
